Abstract

Cilj ovog diplomskog rada bio je ispitati ulogu snaga i individualne otpornosti u objašnjenju simptoma anksioznosti kod srednjoškolaca u gradu Zagrebu obuhvaćenih ovim istraživanjem. U ovom radu snage i individualna otpornost operacionalizirani su kroz pokazatelje slike o sebi, tj. razinu samoefikasnosti te samosvijesti. Navedeno istraživanje provedeno je u razdoblju od listopada do studenog 2017. godine u Zagrebu u sklopu znanstvenog projekta „Pozitivan razvoj adolescenata grada Zagreba: analiza stanja“. Istraživanje je obuhvatilo reprezentativnu populaciju srednjoškolaca iz 25 škola na području grada Zagreba. Ovaj diplomski rad temelji se na izdvojenom prigodnom uzorku iz velikog istraživanja to jest, podacima prikupljenima u četiri zagrebačke srednje škole. Ukupan uzorak čini 719 sudionika: 295 učenika III. gimnazije Zagreb, 176 učenika iz Prirodoslovne škole Vladimira Preloga, 137 učenika iz Geodetske škole te 111 učenika iz Drvodjeljske škole. Intenzitet doživljavanja simptoma anksioznosti mjeren je skalom Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS) (Lovibond i Lovibond, 1995). Razine osjećaja samoučinkovitosti te samosvijesti ispitivane su skalom Resilience and Youth Development Module iz California Healthy Kids Survey (Hanson i sur., 2007). Rezultati su pokazali da svaki deseti srednjoškolac obuhvaćen ovim istraživanjem pokazuje ozbiljne simptome anksioznosti. Slika o sebi uglavnom je pozitivna. Utvrđene su značajne spolne razlike na način da djevojke iskazuju višu razinu simptoma anksioznosti (posebice u kategorijama ozbiljne i vrlo ozbiljne razine simptoma) te slabije razvijenu sliku o sebi, no kad je u pitanju dob ispitanika, razlike nisu utvrđene. Potvrđena je negativna korelacija između simptoma anskioznosti i stupnja razvijenosti slike o sebi

Abstract (english)

The aim of this graduate thesis was to determine the role of strenghts and individual resilience in explaining anxiety symptoms in high school students in Zagreb city. In this thesis strenghts and individual resilience are operationalized through self-image indicators, self¬efficiency and self- awareness. This research was conducted in the period from October to November 2017 in Zagreb, within the framework of the scientific project "Positive development of adolescents in Zagreb: analysis of the situation". The research covered a representative population of high school students from 25 schools in the Zagreb area. This graduate thesis is based on a specific sample from a large-scale research to data, data collected in four high schools in Zagreb. The total sample consists of 719 participants: 295 students from III. Gymnasium, 176 students from Vladimir Prelog High School, 137 students from Geodetic School and 111 students from Carpentry School (N=111). Intensity of experiencing symptoms of anxiety was measured with Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS) (Lovibond and Lovibond, 1995). Self-efficiency and self-awareness were measured with Resilience and Youth Development Module iz California Healthy Kids Survey (Hanson and co., 2007). The results have shown that every 10th high school student which participated in this research has shown serious symptoms of anxiety. Self-image is mainly positive. There are significant gender differences in a way that girls show higher level of anxiety symptoms (especially in categories of serious and very serious symptom levels) and lower level of self-image. Age differences was not distinguished in showing those symptoms. The research has shown that there is a significant negative correlation between anxiety symptoms and level of self-image
