Abstract

Rak dojke najčešća je vrsta raka meĎu ţenama te predstavlja zdravstveni problem za ţene od vremena postavljanja dijagnoze, tijekom liječenja i nakon izlječenja. Liječenje raka dojke moţe biti vrlo učinkovito, osobito ako se bolest rano identificira. Smrtnost od raka dojke malo se promijenila od 1930 -ih do 1970 -ih. Poboljšanja preţivljavanja započela su 1980 -ih u zemljama s programima ranog otkrivanja u kombinaciji s različitim načinima liječenja za iskorjenjivanje invazivne bolesti. No, kvaliteta ţivota uvelike je povezana s rakom dojke. Procjena kvalitete ţivota u posljednja je dva desetljeća sve više privlačila pozornost onkološke zajednice. Kroz rad su prikazana neka dosadašnja istraţivanja koja su se bavila procjenom kvalitete ţivota, socijalnom podrškom i percepcijom bolesti. Analizom provedenih istraţivanja, moţe se zaključiti kako rak dojke u velikoj mjeri utječe na kvalitetu ţivota u negativnom kontekstu. Odnosno, sama dijagnoza raka, kao i njegovo liječenje, posebice putem mastektomije i kemoterapije dovode često do pojave depresije, anksioznosti, loše slike o sebi, što se negativno odraţava na kvalitetu ţivota. TakoĎer, veoma bitan čimbenik u očuvanju kvalitete ţivota ima socijalna podrška, posebice od obitelji i bliskih. Odnosno, iz prikazanih istraţivanja moţe se zaključiti kako su ţene s dobrom socijalnom podrškom izvijestile da se mnogo lakše nose s rakom dojke, u odnosu na ţene koje su imale lošiju socijalnu podršku. Pored socijalne podrške, veliku ulogu ima i dobra percepcija bolesti. Iz istraţivanja je vidljivo kako je najčešći uzrok loše percepcije loša informiranost o bolesti, manjak obrazovanja ţena s rakom dojke od strane liječnika i slično. Ţene koje su imale bolju informiranost i obrazovanje, pokazale su znatno bolju percepciju bolesti što im je takoĎer pomoglo da se lakše nose s bolešću te je ujedno i utjecalo na kvalitetu ţivota u pozitivnom smislu. Odnosno, ţene s boljom percepcijom bolesti imale su bolju kvalitetu ţivota, u odnosu na ţene koje su imale lošiju percepciju bolesti.

Abstract (english)

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women and is a health problem for women since diagnosis, during treatment and after cure. Breast cancer treatment can be very effective, especially if the disease is identified early. Breast cancer mortality changed slightly from the 1930 s to the 1970 s. Improvement of survival began in the 1980 s in countries with early detection programmes combined with different treatments to eradicate invasive disease. However, the quality of life is largely related to breast cancer. The quality of life assessment over the past two decades has increasingly drawn the attention of the oncology community. The paper presents some previous research dealing with quality of life assessment, social support and disease perception. By analysing the research carried out, it can be concluded that breast cancer greatly influences the quality of life in a negative context. Namely, the diagnosis of cancer and its treatment, especially through mastectomy and chemotherapy, often lead to depression, anxiety, bad self-image, which adversely affects the quality of life. Also, a very important factor in preserving the quality of life is social support, especially from families and close ones. From the presented research it can be concluded that women with good social support reported that they are much easier to cope with breast cancer than women with lower social support. In addition to social support, a good perception of the disease plays a great role. The research shows that the most common cause of bad perception is poor information about the disease, lack of education of women with breast cancer by doctors, etc. Women who had better information and education showed a much better perception of the disease, which also helped them cope more easily with the disease and also influenced the quality of life in a positive sense. Namely, women with a better perception of the disease had a better quality of life than women with a lower perception of the disease.
