Abstract

Pjevači su elitni vokalni profesionalci. Posjeduju izvanredne vokalne sposobnosti i više su
osjetljivi na promjene u svojem glasu od osoba koje se ne bave pjevanjem. Minimalne ozljede
glasa mogu imati golem negativan utjecaj na njihovu radnu sposobnost i kvalitetu života. U
mnogočemu se razlikuju od opće populacije pa stručnjaci koji rade s njima trebaju dobro
poznavati te specifičnosti. Zbog raznih čimbenika koji se vežu uz njihovo zanimanje, pjevači
su rizična skupina za pojavu poremećaja glasa. Istraživanja su pronašla veću prevalenciju
poremećaja glasa kod pjevača u odnosu na opću populaciju. Da bi se pružila odgovarajuća
terapija poremećaja glasa, prvo je nužno napraviti temeljitu procjenu. Procjenu idealno provodi
multidisciplinarni tim koji se u najužem opsegu sastoji od logopeda, otorinolaringologa (ORL
stručnjaka) i profesora pjevanja. Logopedi ne provode specijalizirani trening za poboljšanje
vještina pjevanja i umjetničke ekspresije, ali oni otkrivaju, analiziraju i modificiraju vokalna
ponašanja koja mogu dovesti do poremećaja glasa kod pjevača. Tijekom procjene, logoped
uzima anamnezu te provodi objektivne i subjektivne mjere glasa. Kako bi se dobila što
potpunija slika o poremećaju glasa i njegovim posljedicama, potrebno je koristiti se različitim
mjerama glasa. Objektivne mjere akustičke analize daju fizikalne karakteristike glasa.
Subjektivne mjere obuhvaćaju samoprocjenu i perceptivnu procjenu. Tijekom samoprocjene,
osoba ispunjava upitnik o posljedicama poremećaja glasa na vlastitu kvalitetu života. U
perceptivnoj procjeni, logoped sluša glas osobe i opisuje njegove specifične karakteristike.
Perceptivna procjena ključna je za interpretaciju objektivnih podataka o glasu. Trenutačno ne
postoji jedna struka koja obuhvaća znanja iz poremećaja glasa, kao i tehnike pjevanja,
habilitacije i rehabilitacije pjevačkog glasa. Stoga, stručnjaci koji žele raditi s pjevačima s
poremećajima glasa trebaju sami tražiti načine dodatnog educiranja. Ciljevi ovog preglednog
diplomskog rada bit će prikazati dosadašnje spoznaje o procjeni poremećaja glasa kod pjevača,
o ulozi logopeda u toj procjeni i dati prijedlog za njezino unapređenje.

Abstract (english)

Singers are elite vocal professionals. They have extraordinary vocal abilities and they are often
more sensitive to changes in their voice than non-singers. Minimal voice injuries can have a
huge negative impact on their ability to work and quality of life. In many ways, they differ from
the general population, and experts who work with them should know these specifics. Due to
various factors that are related to their occupation, singers have a higher risk for voice disorders.
Research has found a higher prevalence of voice disorders in singers compared to the general
population. The evaluation process is ideally carried out by a multidisciplinary team consisting
of at least a speech and language pathologist (SLP), an otolaryngologist (ENT specialist), and
a singing teacher. SLPs do not provide specialized training to improve singing skills and artistic
expression, but they detect, analyze, and modify vocal behavior that may lead to voice disorders
in singers. During the assessment, the SLP takes a case history and conducts objective and
subjective voice measurements. To get a full picture of the voice disorder and its consequences,
it is necessary to use different voice measurements. Objective measurements include acoustic
analysis in which the physical characteristics of the voice are obtained. Subjective
measurements include self-assessment and perceptual assessment. During the self- assessment,
the patient fills out a questionnaire about the consequences of the voice disorder on his or her
quality of life. In perceptual assessment, the SLP listens to the patient voice and describes the
specific characteristics of the voice. Perceptual assessment is useful to interpret objective voice
information. Currently, there is no single profession that has knowledge about voice disorders
and also singing techniques, habilitation, and rehabilitation of the singing voice. Professionals
who want to work in this field should further educate themselves about singers with voice
disorders. This thesis will review the current knowledge on the assessment of voice disorders
in singers, the role of SLP in this process, and give a proposal for its improvement.
