Abstract

Otpornost se može definirati kao sposobnost oporavka ili prevladavanja nekog oblika nevolje te pojedinac, unatoč neugodnom događaju ili situaciji, dolazi do pozitivnih ishoda. Postoji više razina otpornosti te će se u ovom radu naglasak staviti na obiteljsku otpornost koja predstavlja procese suočavanja i prilagodbe koji se odvijaju u obitelji kao funkcionalnoj jedinici. Svrha ovog diplomskog rada jest kritički se osvrnuti na doprinos obiteljske otpornosti razvojnim ishodima djece i mladih te donijeti zaključak na temelju cjelokupne analize. U odnosu na svrhu rada, ciljevi rada jesu dati odgovor na pitanja: Kako se razvija obiteljska otpornost?; Kako obiteljska otpornost utječe na razvojne ishode djece i mladih?; Kako to da u nekim obiteljima suočenim s poteškoćama djeca izlaze otpornija iz iskustva, dok je u drugim obiteljima suočenim sa sličnim okolnostima razvoj djece i mladih ozbiljno narušen?; Koje su praktične smjernice za kreiranje preventivnih intervencija utemeljenih na dokazima učinkovitosti, odnosno smjernice za jačanje obiteljske otpornosti i ulaganja u pozitivan razvoj djece i mladih?. Fokus ovog preglednog rada jest na sintezi rezultata domaćih i stranih istraživanja koji pokazuju kako procesi na razini obitelji, uključujući snažne emocionalne veze, učinkovite obrasce komunikacije u obitelji, korištenje strategija suočavanja i obiteljskih sustava uvjerenja, mogu biti od iznimne važnosti i sredstvo pomoću kojeg se obitelji uspijevaju nositi s izazovima. Za kraj će biti dan pregled preventivnih intervencija utemeljenih na dokazima učinkovitosti u obiteljskom okruženju koje, između ostalog, pospješuju obiteljsko funkcioniranje i otpornost.

Abstract (english)

Resilience can be defined as the ability of an individual to recover from or overcome adversity and achieve positive outcomes, despite an unpleasant event or situation. There are several levels of resilience, and in this thesis the focus is on the family level, which represents the coping and adaptation processes that take place in the family as a functional unit. The purpose of this thesis is to critically reflect on the contribution of family resilience to the developmental outcomes of children and adolescents and to draw a conclusion based on the overall analysis. In relation to the purpose of the thesis, the aims of the thesis are to answer the questions: How does family resilience develop?; How does family resilience affect the developmental outcomes of children and young people?; How is it that in some families facing difficulties, children emerge from the experience more resilient, while in other families facing similar circumstances, children and young people's development is seriously compromised?; What practical guidelines are there for developing preventive interventions based on evidence of effectiveness, i.e. guidelines for strengthening family resilience and investing in the positive development of children and young people? This work focuses on the findings of national and international research showing that family processes, including strong emotional bonds, effective family communication patterns, the use of coping strategies and family belief systems, can be extremely important and provide a means by which families can overcome challenges. Finally, there will be an overview of preventive interventions based on evidence of effectiveness in the family environment, which, among other things, promote family functioning and resilience.
