Abstract

Senzorna integracija je neurološki proces koji organizira osjete iz vlastitog tijela i okoline na
način da je tijelo efikasno u okolini. Dobra senzorna integracija je važna za razne funkcije kao
što je pažnja, učenje, motoričko planiranje, samoregulacija i mnoge druge. Poremećaj obrade
senzornih informacija je stanje u kojem mozak ima teškoća s primanjem i obradom senzornih
informacija te se ne mora pojaviti samo uz neke već postavljene dijagnoze poput autizma ili
ADHD-a, već i kod djece tipičnog razvoja. Kada se govori o senzornoj integraciji, vrlo je važno
biti upoznat s pojmovima hipoosjetljvosti i hiperosjetljivosti, kao i sa svih osam osjetnih
sustava te kako se hiposjetljivost i hiperosjetljivost manifestira s obzirom na svaki osjetni
sustav. Predškolsko razdoblje je vrlo značajno za djecu i dječji razvoj te upravo zbog toga
odgojiteljice imaju važnu ulogu jer s djecom provode najviše vremena i mogu ukazati na neke
teškoće ili sumnje na teškoću.
Kako bi se saznalo kakva je informiranost predškolskih odgojiteljica i studentica ranog
predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja o važnosti senzorne integracije, provedeno je istraživanje.
Informiranost se provjerila konstruiranim anketnim upitnikom putem Google obrazaca. Uzorak
je obuhvaćao 52 sudionica, od kojih je 27 odgojiteljica i 25 studentica. Kvantitativnom
obradom podataka pokazalo se da su ispitanice informirane o važnosti senzorne integracije za
dječji razvoj te da ne postoji statistički značajna razlika u informiranosti između odgojiteljica i
studentica ranog predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja. Postoje neke sličnosti u odgovorima
između te dvije skupine, npr. i odgojiteljice i studentice se najviše informiraju o novostima u
struci u neformalnom razgovoru s kolegicama, ali i neke razlike: odgojiteljice su za pojam
teškoće primanja i obrade senzornih informacija najviše čule putem formalnih edukacija koje
su polazile, dok su studentice za taj isti pojam čuli u neformalnom razgovoru s kolegicama.

Abstract (english)

Sensory integration is a neurological process that organizes sensations from one's own body
and the environment in a way that makes the body efficient in the environment. Good sensory
integration is important for various functions such as attention, learning, motor planning, selfregulation,
and many others. Sensory processing disorder is a condition where the brain has
difficulty receiving and processing sensory information and it may not only occur alongside
already diagnosed conditions such as autism or ADHD but also in typically developing
children. When discussing sensory integration, it is very important to be familiar with the
concepts of hyposensitivity and hypersensitivity, as well as with all eight sensory systems and
how hyposensitivity and hypersensitivity manifest in relation to each sensory system. The
preschool period is very significant for children and their development, and for this reason,
preschool teachers play an important role as they spend the most time with children and can
point out any difficulties or suspicions of a difficulty.
To determine the awareness of preschool teachers and students of early childhood education
about the importance of sensory integration, a study was conducted. Awareness was assessed
using a constructed survey questionnaire via Google Forms. The sample included 52
participants, of which 27 were teachers and 25 were students. Quantitative data analysis
showed that the respondents are aware of the importance of sensory integration for child
development and that there is no statistically significant difference in awareness between
preschool teachers and students of early childhood education. There are some similarities in
the responses between these two groups, for example, both teachers and students most
frequently get informed about new developments in the field through informal conversations
with colleagues, but there are also some differences: teachers most commonly heard about
sensory processing difficulties through formal education they attended, while students heard
about this term in informal conversations with colleagues.
