Abstract

Maligna oboljenja predstavljaju ne samo izazov za pojedinca koji boluje, već i za članove
njegove obitelji. Utjecaj malignih bolesti na obitelj može biti dubok i kompleksan. Obitelji se
suočavaju s emocionalnim stresom, financijskim teretom, promjenom svakodnevnog života te
ponekad i s izazovima u komunikaciji i međusobnoj podršci. Uloge unutar obitelji mogu se
promijeniti, a dinamika odnosa može biti narušena. Međutim, obitelj može biti izvor ogromne
podrške i snage za pacijenta, pružajući mu emocionalnu podršku, pomoć i ljubav. Stoga je važno
prepoznati utjecaj malignih oboljenja na obitelj te im pružiti odgovarajuću stručnu podršku. Cilj
ovog diplomskog rada jest dobiti uvid u utjecaj malignog oboljenja na obitelj kada jedan član
obitelji oboli od bolesti. Ovaj diplomski rad biti će prikaz kvalitativnog istraživanja. Sudionici u
istraživanju biti će osobe čija je majka oboljela i preboljela malignu bolest. Problemska pitanja
biti će vezana uz nošenje ispitanih osoba s malignim oboljenjem majke, utjecaj malignog
oboljenja na odnose unutar obitelji te strah od moguće ponovne pojave bolesti. Područje
edukacijske rehabilitacije u interdisciplinarnoj suradnji s drugim stručnjacima trebalo bi se
usmjeriti na holistički pristup. Zbog toga bi se više trebalo istražiti ovo područje i dati neke nove
perspektive koje će doprinijeti razumijevanju i pružanju adekvatne podrške.

Abstract (english)

Malignant diseases pose not only a challenge to the individual suffering but also to their family
members. The impact of malignant diseases on the family can be deep and complex. Families
face emotional stress, financial burdens, changes in daily life, and sometimes challenges in
communication and mutual support. Roles within the family may change, and relationship
dynamics may be disrupted. However, the family can be a source of immense support and
strength for the patient, providing them with emotional support, assistance, and love. Therefore,
it is important to recognize the impact of malignant diseases on the family and provide them with
appropriate professional support. The aim of this thesis is to gain insight into the impact of
malignant diseases on the family when a family member falls ill. This thesis will present a
qualitative research study. Participants in the study will be individuals whose mother has
suffered from and survived a malignant disease. The research questions will be related to how
the individuals cope with their mother's malignant disease, the impact of the malignant disease
on family relationships, and the fear of possible recurrence of the disease. The field of
educational rehabilitation, in interdisciplinary collaboration with other professionals, should
focus on a holistic approach. Therefore, further research in this area is warranted to provide new
perspectives that contribute to understanding and providing adequate support.
