Abstract

Stečeno oštećenje sluha postalo je jednim od najčešćih kroničnih stanja i senzoričkih promjena, koje pogađa velik broj odraslih i starijih osoba. Ovo istraživanje usmjereno je na proces slušanja glazbe kod osoba sa slušnim pomagalima sa stečenim oštećenjem sluha, zbog središnjeg mjesta koje glazba zauzima u svakodnevnom životu i njene ključne uloge u emocionalnom i socijalnom funkcioniranju. Ciljevi ovog istraživanja bili su ispitati poglede i stavove korisnika slušnih pomagala s različitim stupnjevima oštećenja sluha o slušanju glazbe te identificirati ključne poteškoće. Upitnik je osmišljen u svrhu istraživanja kako bi se utvrdilo zadovoljstvo sudionika slušanjem glazbe dok koriste slušna pomagala. Dob sudionika varirala je između 23 i 93 godine. Ispitanici su bili različite dobi, spola i stupnja oštećenja sluha. Provedene su kvantitativne analize kako bi se prikupili podaci o subjektivnom iskustvu korisnika. Analize rezultata u smislu deskriptivne i neparametrijske statistike pokazale su da čak i kad je većina korisnika slušnih pomagala bila zadovoljna kvalitetom zvuka glazbe koju su primali putem svojih uređaja, i dalje su postojali specifični problemi s kojima su se morali suočiti. Među njima su slabije prepoznavanje riječi i melodija te problem mehaničkog prizvuka glazbe. Istraživanje je pokazalo da je većina korisnika slušnih pomagala zadovoljna trenutnom kvalitetom slušanja glazbe koju im pruža njihovo slušno pomagalo unatoč pojedinim tehnološkim problemima, no nedostaje im kvaliteta slušanja glazbe prije oštećenja sluha kada su više i češće uživali u glazbi. Neparametrijskom statistikom utvrđeno je da povezanost stupnja oštećenja sluha i zadovoljstva kvalitetom slušanja glazbe nije bila značajna. Ovi rezultati pokazali su da je potreban veći razvoj i šire istraživanje tehnologije slušnih pomagala kako bi se stekao napredniji slušni doživljaj, posebno za glazbu.

Abstract (english)

Acquired hearing loss has become one of the most common chronic conditions and sensory changes, affecting many adults and the elderly. This research is focused on the process of listening to music in people with hearing aids with acquired hearing loss, due to the central place that music occupies in everyday life and its key role in emotional and social functioning. The goals of this research were to examine the views and attitudes of hearing aid users with different degrees of hearing impairment about listening to music and to identify key difficulties. The questionnaire was designed for research purposes to determine participants' satisfaction with listening to music while using hearing aids. The age of the participants varied between 23 and 93 years. The participants were of different ages, genders and degrees of hearing impairment. Quantitative analyzes were conducted to collect data on the subjective experience of users. Analyzes of the results in terms of descriptive and non-parametric statistics showed that even when most hearing aid users were satisfied with the sound quality of the music they could hear through their devices, there were still specific problems they had to face. Among them are weaker recognition of words and melodies and the problem of mechanical overtones of music. The research showed that most hearing aid users are satisfied with the quality of listening to music provided by their hearing aid despite certain technological problems, but still they miss the quality prior to hearing impairment when they also listened to and enjoyed music more. Using non-parametric statistics, it was determined that the relationship between the degree of hearing impairment and satisfaction with the quality of listening to music was not significant. These results also indicated that further development of hearing aid technology is needed to achieve a more advanced hearing experience, especially for music.
