Abstract

Iako je većina laika čula za mucanje i ima predodžbu kako ono izgleda, još uvijek ne postoji općeprihvaćena definicija niti podjela mucanja. Unatoč tomu, brojni stručnjaci se bave mogućim uzrocima, razvojem te tretmanom mucanja. Veliki broj terapija dijeli isto obilježje, a to je potreba za poznavanjem osobe i njenog mucanja. S ciljem napretka u terapiji, razvijena je i prevedena na hrvatski jezik mobilna aplikacija Brothers in Stuttering. Cilj je ovog istraživanja od osoba koje mucaju te od njihovih logopeda putem upitnika dobiti informacije o korištenju, izgledu, sadržaju i korisnosti aplikacije za osobu koja muca te korisnosti za terapiju. Prethodno su korisnici ispunjavali izvješća o svome mucanju, a logopedi su trebali pratiti izvješća korisnika i, ukoliko su imali potrebu za tim, slati korisniku povratne informacije. Zbog tehničkih problema koji su omeli praćenje izvješća i izmjenu podataka od strane logopeda, cilj je bio usmjeren na dobivanje povratnih informacija isključivo od korisnika. Nakon puna tri mjeseca korištenja mobilne aplikacije i ispunjavanja izvješća, rezultati su pokazali da su se tehnički problemi pojavljivali nesustavno, kod svakog korisnika oni su bili drugačiji. Utjecali su i na razgovor o izvješćima s logopedom budući da je većina negativno odgovorila na tvrdnju o navedenom. Međutim, većinom pozitivni rezultati dobili su se na području sadržaja i prikladnosti mobilne aplikacije te o njenoj korisnosti u razumijevanju osjećaja i ponašanja tijekom mucanja. Ovi rezultati ukazuju na potrebu za tehničkom doradom mobilne aplikacije Brothers in Stuttering te posljedično prikupljanje podataka o njenom utjecaju na terapiju mucanja.

Abstract (english)

Even though most people heard about it, stuttering does not have a generally accepted definition or a classification. A lot of researchers deal with its etiology, development and treatment. Each stuttering therapy has the same starting point – getting familiar with the person and his or hers difficulties. The final goal of the smart phone application called Brothers in Stuttering – that has been translated into Croatian - is to improve stuttering therapy. The intent of this research is to get information about this smart phone application through surveys for users and their speech and language therapists (SLTs). Users were firstly given the app to use it for three months after which they filled out a survey to give their opinion on the look, purpose and usefulness of the application. While using the app, users were filling out reports about their stuttering while SLTs were supposed to follow those reports and give their feedback if and when needed. Because of technical problems which distracted insight into reports and exchange of data between users, the goal was directed only to feedback information from users. After three months of using this mobile application and filling reports, results showed that technical problems were non-systematic; they were different for each user. However, mostly positive results were given about adequacy and content of application, its usefulness in understanding person's feelings and behavior during stuttering. These results show that there is need for technical support of smart phone application Brothers in Stuttering so that its influence on stuttering therapy could be measured.
