Abstract

Socijalne vještine definiraju se kao naučene vještine, koje se sastoje od karakterističnih ponašanja, uključuju iniciranje i odgovaranje, maksimiziraju se socijalnim pojačanjima, interaktivne su i specifične za situaciju te mogu biti specificirane kao mete za intervenciju. Ova definicija navodi nas na zaključak da će razvoj socijalnih vještina uvelike ovisiti o iskustvima i interakcijama osobe kao i o okolini u kojoj se nalazi. Prema tome, postoji teoretska mogućnost da su socijalne vještine različite ovisno o spolu osobe te o prisutnosti oštećenja vida. Velik broj istraživanja potvrdio je da su socijalne vještine općenito bolje razvijene u žena nego u muškaraca. Kada su u pitanju osobe oštećenog vida, istraživanja je puno manje, a rezultati nisu jednoznačni. Kako bi se pokušale otkriti razlike u socijalnim vještinama između spolova osoba oštećena vida te potencijalno ustanoviti kada te razlike nastaju, provedeno je istraživanje na populaciji predškolaca oštećena vida. Korišten je mjerni instrument PKBS-2, kojim su se mjerile socijalne vještine i problemi u ponašanju. Vještine djece su uspoređene u odnosu na njihov spol te se ukupni rezultat predškolaca oštećena vida usporedio s standardiziranim rezultatima predškolaca bez teškoća. Statistička obrada rezultata nije pokazala statistički značajne razlike u socijalnim vještinama ni u problemima u ponašanju između muške i ženske djece oštećenog vida. Statistički značajna razlika pronađena je na podskali socijalne interakcije i na podskali eksternaliziranih problema u ponašanju kada su se uspoređivala djeca oštećenog vida i djeca bez teškoća, gdje su djeca oštećena vida postigla lošije rezultate.

Abstract (english)

Social skills are learned, composed of specific behaviors, include initiations and responses, maximize social reinforcement, are interactive and situation-specific, and can be specified as targets for intervention. This definition suggests that the development of social skills will largely depend on the experiences and interactions of the person and the environment in which he is located. Thus, there is a theoretical possibility that social skills are different depending on the gender of the person and the presence of visual impairment. A large number of studies have confirmed that social skills are generally better developed in women than in men. When it comes to the visually impaired person, there is less research and the results are not straightforward. In order to try to detect gender differences in social skills of visually impaired people and to, hopefully, identify when these differences occur, a study was conducted on the population of visually impaired preschoolers. Social skills and behavioral problems were measured using PKBS-2 measuring instrument. The skills of children were compared by their gender, and the overall score of preschoolers with impaired vision was compared to standardized scores of preschoolers without difficulties. No statistically significant differences were found between two genders of visually impaired preschoolers. A statistically significant difference was found on the social interaction subscale, as well as on the externalized problem behaviour subscale when visually impaired children where compared to preschoolers without difficulties, where children with visual impairment performed worse.
