Abstract

Zemlje diljem svijeta suočavaju se sa sve većim brojem starije populacije. Životni vijek se znatno produljio što rezultira povećanjem broja starijih ljudi. Povećava se i broj različitih kroničnih bolesti kao što su srčana oboljenja, moždani udari, demencije, dijabetes i slično. Zahtjevi i troškovi brige za starije osobe sve su veći. Kako bi olakšali život starijim osobama te im pružili što bolju podršku, važno je kreirati zdravo, podržavajuće okruženje. Smart homes (pametne kuće) mogu biti jedno od rješenja za kreiranje ugodnog, korisnog, pristupačnog okruženja za stariju osobu. Tako bi se više usmjerili na pružanje pomoći i podrške starijim osobama u njihovim domovima, te se udaljavali od smještanja starijih osoba u bolnice i staračke domove. U pametnim kućama mogu biti ugrađeni različiti senzori koji omogućavaju kontinuiranu pomoć osobama. Ugrađeni senzori ne ometaju svakodnevne aktivnosti osobe već pridonose većoj udobnosti i sigurnosti doma. Na taj način pridonose i boljoj kvaliteti života starijih osoba. Jedna od svrha i glavnih uloga pametne kuće je da poveže pametnu kuću sa zdravstvenim ustanovama kako bi osigurali brzu intervenciju ukoliko se primijeti abnormalnost u funkcioniranju osobe. Također, trebali bi omogućavati lakše konzultiranje s liječnikom. Ovo je od posebne važnosti za ruralna područja gdje je pristup medicinskim uslugama ograničen. Uz navedeno, važno je da se pametna kuća kreira individualno, ovisno o potrebama i interesima osobe koja ju koristi te da potiče neovisnost starije osobe.
Cilj ovog rada je prikazati rezultate istraživanja provedenih u posljednjih 5 godina o iskustvima starijih osoba o prednostima i nedostacima života u pametnim kućama.

Abstract (english)

Countries around the world are facing an increasing number of older populations. Life expectancy has increased significantly resulting in an increase in the number of older people. There is also an increase in the number of chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, dementia, diabetes... The demands and costs of caring for the elderly are increasing. In order to make life easier for the elderly and provide them with as much support as possible, it is important to create a healthy, supportive environment. Smart homes can be one of the solutions for creating a comfortable, useful, affordable environment for the elderly. Thus, they would focus more on providing assistance and support to the elderly in their homes and moving away from the placement of the elderly in hospitals and nursing homes. In smart homes, various sensors can be installed to provide continuous assistance to people. Built-in sensors do not interfere with a person's day-to-day activities, but contribute to greater comfort and home security. In this way, they also contribute to a better quality of life for the elderly. One of the purposes and main roles of a smart home is to connect the smart home to healthcare facilities to ensure rapid intervention if an abnormality in a person's functioning is noted. They should also make it easier to consult a doctor. This is of particular importance for rural areas where access to medical services is limited. In addition, it is important for a smart home to be created individually, depending on the needs and interests of the person using it, and to foster the independence of the elderly.
The aim of this paper is to present the results of research conducted over the last 5 years on older people's experiences of the pros and cons of living in smart homes.
