Abstract

Mucanje je razvojni govorni poremećaj koji se pojavljuje kod oko 5% djece od kojih se
70% oporavi spontano. Pravi uzroci mucanja još uvijek nisu u potpunosti definirani, ali noviji
razvoj metode funkcionalnog neurooslikavanja mozga i genetička istraţivanja pridonose
otkrivanju točne etiologije mucanja.
Istraţivanja su pokazala kako se mozak osoba koje mucaju u odnosu na osobe urednog
govornog razvoja razlikuje u strukturnim i funkcionalnim karakteristikama kortikalnih i
subkortikalnih struktura. Od strukturnih razlika ističe se povećani volumen bijele tvari u
desnoj hemisferi te smanjeni integritet bijele tvari u lijevoj hemisferi, u područjima
uključenima u proizvodnju govora. U funkcionalnim razlikama zamjećuje se povećana
aktivacija desne hemisfere, motoričkog područja, malog mozga te deaktivacija slušnog
područja. Genetika doprinosi istraţivanjima kromosomskih regija koje se mogu povezati s
naslijeĎivanjem predispozicije za razvoj mucanja.

Abstract (english)

Stuttering is a developmental speech disorder that occurs in 5% of children with
spontaneous remission in approximately 70% of cases.The real causes of stuttering are still
not fully defined, but newer method of development of functional neuroimaging of the brain
and genetic researches contribute discovering the exact etiology of stuttering.
Studies have shown that the brain of people who stutter compared to normally fluent
adults, is different in anatomical and functional characteristics of cortical and subcortical
structures.Increased volume of white matter in the right hemisphere and reduced white matter
integrity in the left hemisphere are structural differences highlights in speech areas. In the
functional differences, increased activation of the right
hemisphere, the motor area, cerebellum and deactivation of the auditory areas are noticed.
Genetics contributes to the research of chromosomal regions that may be linked to inheritance
predisposed to stuttering.
