Abstract

Prvi uređaj za praćenje pokreta oka izumljen je još početkom 20.stoljeća. Od 1970-ih godina široko se primjenjuje u raznim istraživanjima. Praćenje pokreta oka omogućuje istraživačima da promatraju i analiziraju pokrete očiju sudionika tijekom niza aktivnosti. To daje uvid u kognitivne procese koji su u pozadini ljudskog ponašanja. Metoda praćenja pokreta oka koristi se i kod proučavanja disleksije. Disleksija je specifičan poremećaj učenja čije su glavne karakteristike netočno čitanje i nerazumijevanje pročitanog. Pretpostavlja se da je prevalencija disleksije 5-10%. Postoji niz različitosti koje dijele osobe s disleksijom od ostatka populacije, a neke od razlika su i drugačiji pokreti oka pri čitanju. Istraživanja praćenja pokreta oka osoba s i bez disleksije pokazala su razlike koje sugeriraju da pokreti očiju odražavaju teškoće osoba s disleksijom. Metoda praćenja pokreta oka u istraživanjima disleksije koristi se za ispitivanje specifičnih nedostataka u području čitanja, a može se koristiti kao instrument predviđanja individualne sposobnosti čitanja te kao sredstvo prepoznavanja djece kod koje postoje određeni rizični faktori za razvoj dugotrajnih teškoća čitanja. Cilj ovog preglednog rada je dati pregled relevantnih istraživanja u kojima se koristila metoda praćenja pokreta oka u ispitivanju disleksije te razlike koje su uočene između osoba s disleksijom i osoba urednog razvoja.

Abstract (english)

The first device for tracking eye movements was invented at the beginning of the 20th century. Since the 1970s, it has been widely used in various researches. Eye movement tracking allows researchers to observe and analyze participants' eye movements during a series of activities. This gives insight into the cognitive processes that underlie human behavior. One of the areas that can be studied with this method is dyslexia. Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder whose main characteristics are incorrect reading and misunderstanding of what is read. The prevalence of dyslexia is assumed to be 5-10%. There are several differences that people with dyslexia share from the rest of the population, and some of the differences are different eye movements when reading. Eye tracking studies of people with and without dyslexia have shown differences suggesting that eye movements reflect the difficulties of people with dyslexia. The method of tracking eye movements in dyslexia research is used to examine specific deficiencies in the area of reading and can be used as an instrument for predicting individual reading ability and as a means of identifying children with certain risk factors for the development of long-term reading difficulties. The aim of this review is to provide an overview of relevant research in which the eye movement tracking method was used in the examination of dyslexia and the differences observed between people with dyslexia and people with regular development.
