Abstract

Neka od glavnih obilježja graničnog poremećaja ličnosti nestabilni su interpersonalni odnosi, impulzivnost, nestabilna slika o sebi, samoozljeđivanje, suicidalne ideje i pokušaji suicida. Ne samo kod graničnog poremećaja ličnosti, već i kod ostalih poremećaja ličnosti, preporučeni tijek tretmana je psihoterapija. U psihoterapiji se primjenjuju različite tehnike kako bi se osobama s ovim poremećajem pomoglo u smanjenju simptoma, povećanju tolerancije na negativne podražaje iz okoline, unapređenju socijalnih odnosa te učenju kako na konstruktivan način regulirati emocije i kontrolirati ponašanje. Ciljevi ovog rada su utvrditi kako različiti psihoterapijski pristupi gledaju na tretman graničnog poremećaja ličnosti te utvrditi učinkovitost različitih psihoterapijskih pristupa u tretmanu graničnog poremećaja ličnosti. U radu su ukupno obuhvaćena tri psihoterapijska pristupa te je za svaki opisano teorijsko utemeljenje, tijek i karakteristike terapije te je opisano jedno ili više istraživanja koja govore o učinkovitosti tog psihoterapijskog pristupa. Ovakvi su pregledi važni kako bi se osobe koje pate od ovog poremećaja mogle informirati o mogućnostima za tretman te kako bi stručnjaci mogli dobiti uvid kako se sve mogu educirati za rad s ovom populacijom. U radu je utvrđeno kako su dijalektičko – bihevioralna terapija i psihoterapija temeljena na mentalizaciji učinkovite opcije za tretman ovog poremećaja te se ujedno i najviše preporučuju za tretman, pogotovo dijalektično – bihevioralna terapija za koju postoji najviše dokaza o učinkovitosti, dok je za gestalt terapiju potrebno još provoditi istraživanja vezana uz učinkovitost.

Abstract (english)

Some of the main characteristics of borderline personality disorder are unstable interpersonal relationships, impulsivity, unstable self-image, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and suicide attempts. Psychotherapy is the recommended course of treatment not only for borderline personality disorder but also for other personality disorders. In psychotherapy, various techniques are used to help individuals with this disorder reduce symptoms, increase tolerance to negative stimuli from the environment, improve social relationships, and learn how to regulate emotions and control behavior in a constructive manner. The aims of this paper are to determine how different psychotherapeutic approaches view the treatment of borderline personality disorder and to assess the effectiveness of different psychotherapeutic approaches in treating borderline personality disorder. The paper covers three psychotherapeutic approaches in total, describing the theoretical foundations, course, and characteristics of each therapy, along with one or more studies on the effectiveness of the respective psychotherapeutic approach. Such reviews are important to provide individuals suffering from this disorder with information about treatment options, and to give professionals insight into how they can educate themselves to work with this population. The paper concludes that dialectical behavior therapy and mentalization-based therapy are effective options for treating this disorder and are the most recommended for treatment, especially dialectical behavior therapy, which has the most evidence of effectiveness. However, further research on the effectiveness of gestalt therapy is still needed
