Abstract

Mucanje je poremećaj tečnosti govora čija je manifestacija vrlo kompleksna. Manifestirati se može u psihosocijalnom području života osobe koja muca pa zbog poremećaja može stradati i samopoštovanje osobe. Neistraženost povezanosti mucanja i samopoštovanja u osoba koje mucaju u Republici Hrvatskoj glavni je interes za provođenje ovog istraživanja, s ciljem utvrđivanja razine samopoštovanja u osoba koje mucaju. Ispitat će se razlike u razini samopoštovanja između osoba koje mucaju i osoba koje ne mucaju, u razini samopoštovanja između muškog i ženskog spola u osoba koje mucaju te povezanost jakosti mucanja i razine samopoštovanja.
U svrhu ovog istraživanja kreirane su dvije verzije on-line upitnika, zasebno za osobe koje mucaju i osobe koje ne mucaju. Upitnici su kreirani i provedeni putem Google platforme. Oba upitnika sadrže Rosenbergovu skalu za samoprocjenu samopoštovanja. U istraživanju su sudjelovale 22 osobe koje mucaju, 14 muških i 8 ženskih osoba, te 98 osoba koje ne mucaju.
Podatci su obrađeni kvantitativnom i kvalitativnom statističkom analizom.
Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju na nepostojanje statistički značajne razlike između osoba koje mucaju i osoba koje ne mucaju u razini samopoštovanja. Osobe koje ne mucaju imaju nešto više samopoštovanje od osoba koje mucaju, no ne radi se o statistički značajnoj razlici. Također, nije pronađena statistički značajna razlika između muškog i ženskog spola osoba koje mucaju u razini samopoštovanja. Što se tiče povezanosti između jakosti mucanja i razine samopoštovanja uočena je laka povezanost, no ona nije statistički značajna.

Abstract (english)

Stuttering is a disorder of speech fluency which manifestation is very complex. It can be manifested in the psychosocial area of the person's life, and person's self-esteem may suffer as a result of the disorder. The unexplored relationship between stuttering and self-esteem in people who stutter in the Republic of Croatia is a major interest in conducting this research, in order to determine the level of self-esteem in people who stutter. Differences in the level of self-esteem between people who stutter and people who don’t stutter, the level of self-esteem between male and female gender in people who stutter, and the correlation between stuttering severity and the level of self-esteem will be examined.
For the purpose of this research, two versions of the online questionnaire were created, separately for people who stutter and people who don’t stutter. Questionnaires were created and conducted through the Google platform. Both questionnaires contain the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. The study involved 22 people who stutter, 14 male and 8 female, and 98 were people who don’t stutter. The data were processed by quantitative and qualitative statistical analysis.
The results of the study indicate that there is no statistically significant difference between people who stutter and people who don’t stutter in the level of self-esteem. People who don’t stutter have slightly higher self-esteem than people who stutter, but there is no statistically significant difference. Also, no statistically significant difference was found between male and female gender in people who stutter in the level of self-esteem. With regard to the correlation between stuttering severity and the level of self-esteem, a slight correlation was observed, but it was not statistically significant.
