Pretraživanje internetskih izvora u svrhu informiranja o mucanju kod osoba koje mucaju

Abstract

Mucanje je poremećaj tečnosti govora koji obuhvaća puno više aspekata osim samih teškoća u govoru pa ga se često opisuje kao multidimenzionalan poremećaj. Upravo složenost i raznolikost mucanja dovode do teškoća u definiranju i razumijevanju ovog fenomena. Uz pristup internetu, osobe koje mucaju vrlo lako mogu doći do informacija o mucanju i povezati se s drugim osobama koje mucaju. Ovo istraživanje provedeno je u svrhu prikupljanja informacija o učestalosti i razlozima pretraživanja interneta o mucanju kod osoba koje mucaju. Cilj je ispitati postoje li razlike u pretraživanju s obzirom na dobne skupine i pohađanje logopedske terapije, također postoji li povezanost nezadovoljstva logopedskom terapijom i samoprocjene mucanja s pretraživanjem sadržaja o mucanju. U istraživanju provedenom putem interneta sudjelovala je ukupno 51 osoba koja muca u dobi od 15 do 60+ godina iz Republike Hrvatske. Budući da do sada nije provedeno istraživanje ovog tipa, za potrebe rada kreiran je online upitnik koji se sastojao od nekoliko dijelova. Također, sudionici su procijenili mucanje na Skali procjene težine mucanja (9-Point Stuttering Severity Scale) koja se često primjenjuje za samoprocjenu mucanja. U obradi podataka korištene su deskriptivna, neparametrijska i parametrijska statistika. Rezultati pokazuju da ne postoje razlike u pretraživanju u odnosu na dob sudionika, ali postoji statistički značajna razlika u pretraživanju internetskih izvora između osoba koje su polazile i osoba koje nikada nisu polazile logopedsku terapiju. Također, dokazana je povezanost između samoprocjene mucanja i pretraživanja internetskih izvora o mucanju.

Abstract (english)

Stuttering is a fluency disorder which includes many more aspects apart from only speech difficulties, so it is often described as a multidimensional disorder. Complexity and diversity of stuttering make it difficult to define and understand this phenomenon. With access to the Internet, persons who stutter can easily gather information about stuttering and connect with other people who stutter. This research was conducted with the purpose of gathering information about frequency and reasons for Internet resource search about stuttering in persons who stutter. The aim of this study is to examine the differences in Internet resource search with regard to age and speech and language therapy attendance. Additionally, the goal is to examine the correlation of dissatisfaction with speech and language therapy and self-assessment of stuttering with stuttering resource search. Fifty-one persons from Croatia who stutters in the age range 15-60+ years old participated in the study. Since no research of this type has been conducted so far, an online questionnaire consisting of several parts was created for the purpose of the paper. Moreover, participants rated their stuttering on the 9-Point Stuttering Severity Scale which is a commonly used method for self-assessment of stuttering. Descriptive, nonparametric and parametric statistics were used in data processing. The results show that there are no differences in search according to the age of participants, but there is a statistically significant difference in Internet resource search between persons who attended speech therapy and persons who never attended it. Furthermore, a statistically significant correlation between the self-assessment of the severity of stuttering and the Internet resource search has been proven.
