Abstract

Cilj ovog rada dobiti je uvid u perspektivu očeva o roditeljstvu djeteta s oštećenjem vida, odnosno kvalitetu komunikacije sa stručnjacima koji rade s njihovim djetetom s oštećenjem vida, izazove s kojima se susreću, količinu i vrstu podrške koju primaju iz okoline, kvalitetu zajedničkog vremena s djetetom te cjelokupno zadovoljstvo životom. Dobivenim uvidom u perspektivu očeva o roditeljstvu djeteta s oštećenjem vida, omogućeno je prepoznavanje i bolje razumijevanje izazova s kojima se susreću te mogućnost unaprjeđenja kompetencija stručnjaka u radu s očevima djece s oštećenjem vida. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo šest očeva djece s oštećenjem vida čija djeca su polaznici Odjela za integraciju Centra za odgoj i obrazovanje „Vinko Bek“. Deskriptivnim znanstveno-istraživačkim pristupom prikupljeni su podaci iz područja komunikacije sa stručnjacima, izazova roditeljstva i podrške okoline, zajedničkog vremena s djetetom te zadovoljstva životom. Rezultati ovog istraživanja pokazuju da su očevi djece s oštećenjem vida zadovoljni odnosom sa svojim djetetom, kao i da najviše zajedničkog vremena provode u aktivnostima slobodnog vremena. Pozitivni rezultati uočeni su i u području komunikacije sa stručnjacima, prema kojima je većina ispitanika zadovoljna podrškom i komunikacijom sa stručnjacima te ističu kako se na sastancima sa stručnjacima osjećaju uključeno kao i njihovi partneri. S obzirom da je uzorak ispitanika relativno mali, dobiveni rezultati ne mogu se generalizirati na ukupnu populaciju očeva djece s oštećenjem vida, ali su vrlo značajni jer u središte stavljaju očeve koji su rijetko glavna tema istraživanja u području rada s obiteljima djece s oštećenjem vida.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this paper is to gain insight into the perspective of fathers on parenting a child with visual impairment. More precisely, on quality of communication with professionals who work with their child with visual impairment, the challenges they face, the amount and type of support they receive from other people in their lives, quality of time spent with their child and overall life satisfaction. Gaining insight into the perspective of fathers on parenting a child with visual impairment enables better understanding of challenges they face and possibility for professionals to improve their competences in working with fathers of children with visual impairment. Six fathers, whose children are students of the Department for Integration of the Center of Education and Rehabilitation „Vinko Bek“, participated in this research. The descriptive scientific-research approach collected data on communication with experts, challenges of parenting and environmental support, quality of time between fathers and their child and life satisfaction. The results of this research show that fathers of children with visual impairment are satisfied with the relationship with their child, as well as that they spend most of their time with their child in leisure activities. Positive results were also observed in communication with experts, according to which most respondents are satisfied with the support, as well that they feel involved in meetings with experts. Given that the sample is relatively small, the results obtained cannot be generalized to the total population of fathers of children with visual impairment, but they are very significant because they focus on fathers who are rarely the main topic of research in the field of working with families of children with visual impairment.
