Abstract
Istraživanje donosi rezultate mjerenja učestalosti iniciranih socijalnih interakcija i igrovnih aktivnosti u dječaka kroz tri vremenske točke te interpretaciju i prikaz rezultata provedenog intervjua s majkom.

Parallel abstract (English)
Play is a natural and voluntary children's activity by which a child learns and develops. Researches on impact that children's play has on social skills in children with autism spectrum disorder have confirmed its effectiveness. Hence the goal of this research was to improve the children's social and adaptive skills by teaching them appropriate behavior through play in order to reduce undesirable behaviors and to teach social skills. When planning a program of early intervention it is necessary to take into account the individual needs of the child and its family, as such practice has proven successful in working with children with autism spectrum disorder. This study included a child at the age of four, with a diagnosis of social communication disorder. An interview was made with the child's mother in order to get an insight into its everyday life, family relationships and mother's opinion regarding this study. Required data for the assessment were collected through valuation tests "Pre-school services curriculum, Bromley" and "The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS)" that were used to form individualized program goals. The study presents measured results regarding the frequency of initiated social interactions and playing activities by the child in three – time points and the interpretation and presentation of the interview results with mother. The results confirm the effectiveness of play in teaching social skills and adaptive behavior. In conclusion, the study strongly implies that treatment of the child through play yields good results so further treatment is recomended, as well as the involvment of the child's family into the rehabilitation process.
