Abstract

Jedno od obilježja suvremenog društva je trend lake dostupnosti i povećane upotrebe ekrana u svim područjima. Posljednjih godina, ekranima su neizbježno izložena djeca već od najranije dobi. O utjecajima ekrana govori se i raspravlja sve češće, najviše putem medija, međutim znanstveni radovi i znanstveno utemeljeni podaci u tom području su vrlo oskudni. Perspektiva stručnjaka različitih profila koji su uključeni u neposredan rad s djecom rane dobi nije u velikoj mjeri poznata niti dostupna roditeljima i javnosti na području Republike Hrvatske. Istraživanje je motivirano malobrojnim podacima o utjecajima ekrana na djecu rane dobi kao i nedostatnim uvidom u stav stručnjaka različitih profila u odnosu na izloženost djece ekranima. Cilj ovog istraživanja je stjecanje uvida u perspektivu stručnjaka o utjecaju ekrana na rani razvoj djece ovisno o njihovom spolu, dobi, vlastitoj djeci predškolske dobi, zanimanju i duljini radnog staža. Za potrebe prikupljanja podataka osmišljen je prigodan online upitnik koji je proslijeđen stručnjacima putem njihovih krovnih organizacija i društava. Obuhvaćeni su stručnjaci različitih profila koji su u kontaktu s djecom rane dobi (logoped, edukacijski rehabilitator, socijalni pedagog, psiholog, pedijatar, radni terapeut, odgojitelj). U istraživanju je sudjelovalo ukupno 517 stručnjaka s područja Republike Hrvatske. Analizom odgovora sudionika utvrđene su značajne razlike s obzirom na njihovu dob, duljinu radnog staža, zanimanje i činjenicu imaju li djecu rane ili predškolske dobi. Razlike među sudionicima s obzirom na spol nisu utvrđene. Istraživanje je pokazalo da se perspektiva stručnjaka statistički značajno razlikuje s obzirom na njihovo zanimanje. Većina sudionika je pokazala slaganje s tvrdnjama koje se odnose na negativne utjecaje ekrana iz čega je vidljivo općenito negativno mišljenje sudionika o posljedicama sve veće upotrebe ekrana u ranoj dobi. Obzirom na širinu i relevantnost teme, ovo istraživanje daje prikaz perspektive stručnjaka o nekim pitanjima utjecaja ekrana na djecu rane dobi, te može usmjeriti buduća istraživanja u tom području.

Abstract (english)

One of the characteristics of modern society is the trend of easy availability and increased use of screens in all areas. In recent years, children have been inevitably exposed to screens from an early age. The effects of screening are being discussed more and more often , mostly through the media, however scientific works and scientifically based data in this area are very deficient. The perspective of experts of various profiles who are involved in direct work with children at an early age is not widely known or available to parents and wider public in the Republic of Croatia. The research was motivated by a small amount of data on the effects of screens on children at an early age, as well as insufficient insight into the attitude of experts of various profiles in relation to children's exposure to screens. The goal of this research is to gain insight into the perspective of experts on the impact of screens on the early development of children depending on their gender, age, their own preschool children, occupation and length of work experience. For the purposes of data collection, a convenient online questionnaire was designed and sent to experts through their umbrella organizations and association. Experts of various profiles who are in contact with children at an early age are included (speech therapist, special education teacher, social pedagogue, psychologist, pediatrician, occupational therapist, educator). 517 experts from the Republic of Croatia participated in the research. The analysis of the participants' responses revealed significant differences with regard to their age, length of, length of work experience, profession and whether they have children of early or preschool age. Differences between participants with regard to gender were not established. The statistical research showed that the perspective of experts is significantly different regarding their profession. The majority of the participants showed agreement with the statements related to the negative effects of the screen, which shows the generally negative opinion of the participants about the consequences of the increasing use of screens at an early age. Considering the breadth and relevance of the topic, this research presents an expert perspective on some issues of the impact of screens on children at an early age, and can direct future research in this area.
