Abstract

Cilj je ovog kvantitativnog istraživanja ispitati spremnost odgajatelja za rad s djecom s teškoćama u razvoju u Splitsko-dalmatinskoj županiji. Odnosno, ispitati komponente spremnosti, stavove, kompetencije i znanje za rad s djecom s teškoćama u razvoju. Nadalje, cilj je ispitati povezanost kompetencija odgajatelja za rad s djecom s teškoćama u razvoju sa stavovima odgajatelja prema inkluziji djece s teškoćama u razvoju, ispitati povezanost znanja odgajatelja o djeci s teškoćama sa stavovima odgajatelja prema inkluziji djece s teškoćama u razvoju te ispitati povezanost znanja odgajatelja o djeci s teškoćama s kompetencijama odgajatelja za rad s djecom s teškoćama u razvoju. Stavovi, kompetencije i znanja u ovom su istraživanju mjereni Upitnikom o stavovima odgojitelja prema inkluziji djece s teškoćama u razvoju (Kovačević, 2019), Skalom samoprocijenjene kompetentnosti za rad s djecom s teškoćama (Skočić Mihić, 2011), te Upitnikom o znanju odgajatelja vezano uz djecu s teškoćama u razvoju. Istraživanje je provedeno online na području Splitsko-dalmatinske županije. Uzorak ovog istraživanja čini 94 odgajatelja s područja Županije koji rade u javnim i privatnim vrtićima. Za obradu podataka koristio se deskriptivni pristup te neparametrijske statističke metode obrade (Spearmanov koeficijent korelacije). Rezultati ovog istraživanja pokazuju da odgajatelji imaju umjereno pozitivne stavove prema inkluziji djece s teškoćama u razvoju, procjenjuju se umjereno kompetentnima za rad s djecom s teškoćama te pokazuju prosječno dobro znanje o djeci s teškoćama u razvoju. S obzirom na njihov stav i kompetencije odgajatelji su neodlučni u procjeni svoje spremnosti za rad s djecom s teškoćama u razvoju. Dokazana je statistički značajna povezanost između kompetencija odgajatelja za rad s djecom s teškoćama u razvoju sa stavovima odgajatelja prema inkluziji djece s teškoćama u razvoju te znanja odgajatelja o djeci s teškoćama sa stavovima odgajatelja prema inkluziji djece s teškoćama u razvoju i s kompetencijama odgajatelja za rad s djecom s teškoćama u razvoju. Dobiveni rezultati govore u prilog važnosti razvijanja kompetencija, a s prioritetom na znanja odgajatelja. Naglasak bi trebao biti na profesionalnom usavršavanju odgajatelja, no uz ostvarenu adekvatnu podršku i pomoć prilikom rada s djecom s teškoćama u razvoju.

Abstract (english)

The goal of this quantitative research was to examine the readiness of the educators specialised for work with children with disabilities in Split-Dalmatia county. In other words, the goal was to examine components of readiness, attitudes, competencies and educators' knowledge to work with children with disabilities. Furthermore, the goal was also to examine the connection between educators' competencies to work with children with disabilities and their attitudes regarding the inclusion of children with disabilities, to examine the connection of educators' knowledge about children with disabilities with educators' attitudes towards the inclusion of children with disabilities as well as to examine the relationship between educators' knowledge about children with disabilities with educators' attitudes towards the inclusion of children with disabilities and examine the connection of educators' knowledge about children with disabilities with educators' competencies. Attitudes, competencies and knowledge in this research were measured by the Questionnaire on the attitudes of educators towards the inclusion of children with disabilities (Kovačević, 2019), the Self-Assessment Competence Scale for working with children with disabilities (Skočić Mihić, 2011), and the Questionnaire on educators' knowledge with children with disabilities. The research was conducted online in Split-Dalmatia County. The sample of this research consists of 94 educators who work in public and private kindergartens in the county area. A descriptive approach and non-parametric statistical processing methods (Spearman's correlation coefficient) were used for data processing. The results of this research show that educators have moderately positive attitudes towards the inclusion of children with disabilities are assessed as moderately competent to work with children with disabilities and show an average good knowledge of children with disabilities. Considering their attitude and competencies, educators are indecisive in assessing their readiness to work with children with disabilities. There is a statistically significant correlation between competencies with the attitudes of educators towards the inclusion of children with disabilities as well as the educators’ knowledge about children with disabilities and attitudes towards the inclusion of children with disabilities and the competencies of educators working with children. with developmental disabilities. The obtained results speak in favour of the importance of developing competencies while putting a priority on the knowledge of the educators. The focus should be on the professional development of the educators with adequate support and assistance in working with children with disabilities.
